ISLAMABAD: After the successful launch of the country’s first-ever lunar satellite iCube-Qamar, Pakistan unveiled plans to launch another satellite into space on May 30.
The new satellite MM1 will be launched jointly by SPARCO and China’s National Space Agency (NSA), riding the same rocket with China’s Chang’e 6 lunar probe earlier this month.
According to a spokesperson of the Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (Suparco), the MM1 satellite has been designed with the primary goal of helping create Pakistan’s state-of-the-art communication system.

It has the potential to meet the growing demand of the telecom sector as it will improve and establish an advanced communication network.
Three days ago, Pakistan’s maiden lunar mission iCube-Qamar successfully entered the lunar orbit and transmitted the first images from orbit on Friday after completing three rounds of the moon.
