ISLAMABAD: Federal Education Department (FED) employees have started protests in Islamabad against salary differential and pension reforms in the upcoming federal budget 2024-25.
According to the details, protests have started gathering outside Islamabad Model College G-6/4 on Embassy Road and they will march to Parliament House.
Federal government employees have been demanding an increase in salaries, pension, medical, house rent, conveyance, and education allowance.
Earlier, the All Government Employees Grand Alliance (AGEGA) announced to hold a demonstration and protest march at the Pak Secretariat to demand relief for federal government employees in today’s 2024-25 budget.
The Alliance urged the federal government to increase house rent, medical, and conveyance allowances by 100 percent and abolish discrimination in employees’ salaries of different departments and ministries.
Additionally, AGEGA demands that the government withdraw amendments to the pension and government house allotment rules, and increase the minimum wage for laborers to 50,000. Furthermore, daily wages, ad hoc, and contract employees should be made permanent.
Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb will present the growth-oriented budget of FY 2024-25 with an estimated volume of over Rs18 trillion in the National Assembly today.
