ISLAMABAD: To cut the strain on school children, the federal government is considering ways to reduce the weight of school bags.
The government has decided to introduce a student-friendly ‘no bag policy’ for primary schools in Islamabad, starting from August 1.
After the summer vacations, school-going students will no longer have to bring school bags to school as they will be provided with storage cabinets in their classrooms for textbooks or materials.
The new initiative aimed to reduce burdens on young students to promote a healthier educational experience. For that, the government is considering necessary arrangements in all primary schools to accommodate this change.
Similarly, Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tessori announced a new initiative to provide free breakfast and milk to school children in the province on May 29.
