Meanwhile, The Peshawar High Court (PHC) has suspended the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Cabinet’s announcement to file cases against the leadership of the Federal Government Alliance.
A bench comprising Justice Waqar Ahmed and Justice Shakeel Khan heard the case related to cases against PDM leadership based on hate speech on which the PHC issuing a notice to the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the provincial government, the provincial cabinet, the advocate general and others suspended the KP Cabinet’s announcement and also sought the response by KP Government on September 13.
Earlier, the petitioner against the announcement of the provincial cabinet had argued in the court that the provincial cabinet had approved the registration of sedition cases under Section 196 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) for political purposes while Section 196 does not empower an officer to file an FIR.
