D I Khan Police thwarted the attempt to smuggle a large consignment of drugs from Quetta to Punjab via D I Khan and seized 90 kg of hashish and arrested the drug peddlers.
District Police Spokesman Imtiaz Ali Janjua said, SDPO Darazinda Circle Abid Iqbal and SHO Mughal Kot Police Station Tayyab Deen Khan along with a contingent of police carried out an operation against the drug dealers.
At the Mughal Kot check post, a cargo vehicle Hino Truck No. TKF-241 which was heading from Quetta to Punjab via Dera Ismail Khan, when police stopped the car.
The driver of the vehicle told his name as Abdul Naafey son of Saleh and the conductor told his name as Jamal ud Din son of Abdul Samad, both residents of District Pishin.
A thorough check of the vehicle was conducted as the vehicle was suspected, and police recovered 75 packets of hashish wrapped in yellow, secretly hidden in the tires of the vehicle.
The above-mentioned suspects were immediately arrested by the police and the drugs were seized by the police while a case was also registered against them under the Anti-Narcotics Act.
Meanwhile, City Police foiled an attempt to kidnap a young child and arrested the kidnapper red-handed.
City Police Official said, SHO City Police Station Khanzada Khan along with a contingent of police have arrested the accused Niaz Gul red-handed while he was trying to kidnap a young child.
