RAWALPINDI: Security forces foiled an infiltration bid in Kurram and North Waziristan areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. During this, 25 Khawarij were killed.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), 15 Khawarij were killed during an operation by security forces in Span Wam, North Waziristan.
The movement of two groups was detected in Kurram and Span Wam, North Waziristan. Both groups of Khawarij were trying to cross the Pak-Afghan border.
According to the Pakistan Army spokesperson, the security forces effectively targeted the Khawarij. While 4 suicide bombers were among those killed. 10 Khawarij infiltrators were killed in Ghaki area of Kurram.
Arms, ammunition and explosives were recovered from the slain Khawarij.
According to the Pakistan Army spokesperson, 5 Pakistan Army soldiers were martyred in the exchange of fire.
