ISLAMABAD: At least 26 personnel of the Dolphin Squad of Islamabad Police have been dismissed from service on charges of disobeying official orders, while reports suggest that further dismissals may follow.
Police sources confirmed that the disciplinary action was taken after several members refused deployment outside Islamabad, particularly to Lahore, causing administrative tensions within the force.
According to sources, despite being summoned to police headquarters, a large number of Dolphin Squad personnel failed to report to the police lines.
SP Dolphin Khalid Awan later issued a video message, available with Daily Ausaf, instructing the officers to reach the headquarters within 15 minutes.

“Please, Dolphin Squad, please reach in 15 minutes. We are present in the police lines, reach immediately,” he said, warning that failure to comply would result in dismissal orders for all absentees.
Sources have revealed that some officers had expressed reservations about being sent to Lahore. However, the department viewed this as disobedience to official orders.
SP Khalid Awan reiterated that order and discipline must be maintained within the force. “You will get what you are entitled to,” he warned, emphasizing that no disciplinary violations will be tolerated.
