The revised price has taken effect immediately.<\/p>\n<p>Officials said the adjustment follows a review of international petroleum prices and recommendations submitted to the federal government under the country&#8217;s fuel pricing mechanism.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the cut in kerosene prices, the government decided not to change the rates of petrol and high-speed diesel. Petrol will continue to be sold at <strong>Rs299.50 per litre<\/strong>, while high-speed diesel will remain at <strong>Rs311.47 per litre<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the petroleum levy on both major fuels has been revised upward. Government sources said the levy on diesel has increased to <strong>Rs79.54 per litre<\/strong>, while the levy on petrol now stands at <strong>Rs66.64 per litre<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The levy on kerosene, however, remains unchanged at <strong>Rs20.36 per litre<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Petroleum prices in Pakistan are reviewed periodically after assessing trends in the international oil market, exchange rates, import costs and applicable taxes.
