However, authorities said there were <strong>no immediate reports of casualties or major damage<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>According to seismic monitoring officials, the earthquake struck at around <strong>6:35 a.m.<\/strong>, with its epicentre located in the <strong>Hindu Kush region of Afghanistan<\/strong> at a depth of approximately <strong>178 kilometres<\/strong>. Experts said the considerable depth allowed the tremors to travel across northern and central Pakistan.<\/p>\n<p>Emergency response teams are monitoring the situation and have advised citizens to remain calm while staying alert for possible aftershocks.<\/p>\n<div>The tremors have been reported in Balochistan in recent days and the latest quake followed a series of tremors. The province is still under surveillance, officials say as geologic activity continues.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Seismologists said that earthquakes were a frequent natural phenomenon in Pakistan as it was close to the active tectonic plate boundaries. Scientists are able to identify high-risk areas, but can&#8217;t predict the precise strength or timing of future earthquakes.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Rumours of the disaster to be spread on social media have been discouraged and it has been suggested that only official information should be trusted.
