{"id":476,"date":"2026-07-01T10:09:18","date_gmt":"2026-07-01T10:09:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/aitadal.com.pk\/eng\/?p=476"},"modified":"2026-07-01T10:09:18","modified_gmt":"2026-07-01T10:09:18","slug":"punjab-to-give-e-bikes-to-government-employees-after-student-scheme","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/aitadal.com.pk\/eng\/punjab-to-give-e-bikes-to-government-employees-after-student-scheme\/","title":{"rendered":"Punjab to Give E-Bikes to Government Employees After Student Scheme"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>LAHORE:<\/strong> The Punjab government has announced that <strong>government employees will also be included in its electric bike programme<\/strong> after the first phase of the scheme for students is completed.<\/p>\n<p>The decision was approved during a meeting chaired by <strong>Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz<\/strong>, as the province continues to expand its clean and affordable transport initiatives.<\/p>\n<p>Under the first phase, <strong>100,000 electric bikes<\/strong> will be distributed to eligible students through an <strong>interest-free installment plan<\/strong>. Once this stage is completed, government employees across Punjab will also be able to apply under the same programme.<\/p>\n<p>Officials said the provincial government will provide a <strong>Rs70,000 subsidy<\/strong> on each electric bike to reduce the overall cost. Beneficiaries are expected to pay <strong>around Rs2,100 per month<\/strong> through easy, interest-free installments.<\/p>\n<p>The initiative is part of Punjab&#8217;s broader plan to encourage the use of electric vehicles, lower transportation expenses and reduce environmental pollution.<\/p>\n<div>The provincial government is also progressing on a number of green transportation initiatives such as expanding the use of e-buses, e-taxis and other sustainable public transport modes in the province, alongside the e-bike programme.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>The scheme will help to reduce the high cost of traveling to and from work and will promote the sustainable transport transition in the province as a long-term goal.<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>LAHORE: The Punjab government has announced that government employees will also be included in its electric bike programme after the first phase of the scheme for students is completed.
