He stressed that investments linked to alcohol, gambling, narcotics and other prohibited sectors should be avoided.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"573\" data-end=\"709\">He also commented on <strong data-start=\"594\" data-end=\"610\">gold trading<\/strong>, saying that certain forms of gold trading practiced today are not in line with Islamic teachings.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"711\" data-end=\"975\">While discussing digital assets, Mufti Muneeb explained that modern financial systems have become increasingly complex, making it necessary for Islamic scholars to examine new investment products through detailed Shariah screening before giving religious guidance.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"977\" data-end=\"1320\">His remarks come as Pakistan continues to debate the future of cryptocurrency regulation. Earlier, renowned Islamic scholar <strong data-start=\"1101\" data-end=\"1131\">Mufti Muhammad Taqi Usmani<\/strong> issued a detailed fatwa stating that cryptocurrencies, in their current form, do not meet the Shariah definition of wealth and therefore should not be traded or used as a means of payment.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1322\" data-end=\"1654\">Following that opinion, <strong data-start=\"1346\" data-end=\"1402\">Pakistan Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (PVARA)<\/strong> Chairman <strong data-start=\"1412\" data-end=\"1431\">Bilal Bin Saqib<\/strong> met Mufti Taqi Usmani and argued that not all blockchain-based digital assets should be viewed in the same way.
