DERA ISMAIL KHAN: District Police Officer (DPO) Dera Ismail Khan, Ziauddin Ahmed, conducted a detailed visit to Paharpur on Thursday to assess security preparations for Muharram-ul-Haram and review ongoing development projects within the police division.
The visit was attended by SP Paharpur Division Iqbal Khan Baloch, DSP Paharpur Parvez Shah, and SHO Paharpur Muhammad Ali Khan, who briefed the DPO on the arrangements being made to ensure peaceful observance of Muharram.
Security Measures Reviewed
During the visit, senior police officials presented a comprehensive security plan covering mourning processions, religious gatherings, deployment of personnel, surveillance measures, and traffic management.
DPO Ziauddin Ahmed inspected important Imambargahs, procession routes, and other sensitive locations in Paharpur to evaluate preparedness ahead of Muharram.
Meetings with Community Representatives
The DPO also met local residents and custodians of religious sites in the area. Discussions focused on maintaining peace, promoting religious harmony, and strengthening cooperation between the public and law enforcement agencies during Muharram.
Police officials assured community representatives that all necessary steps were being taken to ensure a secure environment throughout the holy month.
Peace and Law & Order Remain Top Priority
Speaking during the visit, DPO Ziauddin Ahmed emphasized that maintaining peace and protecting citizens remain the district police’s highest priorities.
He said strict action would be taken against anyone attempting to create unrest or disturb law and order during Muharram-ul-Haram.
The DPO directed officers to remain vigilant and ensure that all security arrangements are implemented effectively.
Inspection of Development Projects
In addition to reviewing security plans, the DPO visited the ongoing reconstruction work at Police Station Paharpur and inspected the progress of the new Police Facilitation Centre being established in the division.
Officials briefed him on the status of the projects and expected completion timelines.
Facilitation Centre to Improve Public Services
Expressing satisfaction over the pace of development work, the DPO instructed relevant authorities to complete the Police Facilitation Centre as soon as possible.
The facility is expected to improve access to police services and provide greater convenience for citizens seeking assistance and official documentation.
Commitment to Public Safety
The district police administration reiterated its commitment to ensuring effective security arrangements during Muharram and continuing efforts to improve public service delivery across Dera Ismail Khan.
Authorities said all available resources will be utilized to maintain peace and provide a safe environment for residents during upcoming religious events.
