Islamabad: Once again, Barrister Gohar has been elected unopposed as the Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in the party’s intra-party elections. The final list of candidates issued by PTI revealed that Barrister Gohar was the sole candidate for the position of chairman, ensuring his election without any competition. The formal confirmation of his appointment will be made during the elections scheduled for March 3, where voting will take place at the party’s central and provincial secretariats.

In addition to Barrister Gohar, four other individuals have also been elected to their respective positions without facing any competition. These include Omar Ayub as Secretary General, Yasmin Rashid as Punjab President, Haleem Adil Sheikh as Sindh President, and Ali Amin Gandapur as KP President. However, the leadership positions for Balochistan are being contested by three panels led by Amin Khan Jogazai, Dawood Shah, and Munir Ahmad Baloch.

PTI’s decision to hold intra-party elections again follows the nullification of the previous polls by the Election Commission of Pakistan. Consequently, PTI candidates were unable to use the party’s symbol, the bat, in the general election, forcing them to run as independent candidates.
