Peshawar: The heavy rainfall over several days has led to the deaths of over 30 people in rain-related incidents, with thousands of schools closed across the country. The downpours caused significant disruption, prompting the closure of all schools in Balochistan province until Thursday.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, 26 people, including 18 children, lost their lives due to collapsed buildings resulting from the heavy rain. According to Taimur Ali Khan, spokesperson for the Provincial Disaster Management Authority, a total of 27 individuals have perished due to continuous rainfall over the past four days, with one additional casualty from a landslide and over 150 houses damaged.
In southern Balochistan province, five people died as buildings collapsed on Thursday and Friday, as reported by Jahanzain Khan, head of the disaster management agency. Roads have been damaged, floods and landslides have isolated villages from main towns in Balochistan, and major roads are blocked in Gilgit-Baltistan, according to local media.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department forecasts further rainfall and snowfall across the region on Sunday, exacerbating the already challenging situation.
