After an investigation into the Libya and Greece boat tragedy, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has blacklisted 87 officials of the immigration department.

According to FIA guidelines, blacklisted officials and officers ranging from constable to assistant director level have been banned to be posted in Pakistan’s immigration and anti-human trafficking cells.

Among these guidelines, 13 personnel from the Karachi zone and two from FIA Sukkur have been blacklisted after a formal inquiry into the case.

Meanwhile, the other officials are from different places across the country, including Gujranwala, Peshawar, Kohat, Multan, Islamabad, Lahore, Faisalabad, and Balochistan.

Earlier, federal interior minister Mohsin Naqvi after assuming charge took notice and requested a report on the Greece and Libya boat accidents.

According to the facts, Mohsin Naqvi requested that the Director General Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) produce a report on the investigation’s progress thus far.
