Lahore'again' emerged as the most polluted city

Lahore: Lahore has emerged as the most polluted city once again with an Air Quality Index (AQI) of 262, according to recent reports. The AQI readings were particularly high over various areas, with Zacky Farms registering 266, Shahrah-e-Quaid-e-Azam at 259, and DHA Phase 8 at 293. Experts have urged residents to take necessary precautions for their health.

Meanwhile, the weather department noted some changes in weather conditions, characterized by light cold winds and intense sunlight. The current temperature in Lahore stands at 17 degrees Celsius, with a humidity level of 70 percent. The maximum temperature is expected to reach 25 degrees Celsius.

On the other hand, Karachi has also faced significant pollution issues, ranking as the seventh most polluted city globally, with an AQI of 163. Health experts have labeled Karachi’s air quality as “very unhealthy” and advised people to minimize outdoor activities, especially during peak pollution times.

It’s important to note that an AQI between 151 to 200 is considered unhealthy, while readings between 201 to 300 are deemed even more harmful. An AQI surpassing the 300 mark is considered extremely hazardous.
