RAWALPINDI: The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) headed by DG Asim Javed has intensified its operations in Rawalpindi to crack down on vendors selling expired products and adulterated milk.

During the recent crackdown in different areas, 17 milk shops were sealed on complaints of diluting milk in water.

Inspections revealed that the quality and safety of the milk had been compromised due to the adulteration, resulting in the seizure of 220 liters of contaminated milk.

Apart from sealing the shops, the Punjab Food Authority imposed a total fine of Rs 1 lakh 63 thousand on the adulterers.

Additionally, a store in Suhawa area of ​​Jhelum faced a fine of Rs 30,000 for selling expired products.
