KARACHI: Gold prices surged to a historic high in Pakistan on Monday in line with an upward trend in the international market.

According to data provided by the All Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Association, the price of gold increased by Rs. 600 a tola in Pakistan, reaching a record high of Rs. 245,700.

Similarly, the price of ten grams of gold rose by Rs514 to Rs210,648 on the Pakistani domestic market.

In the international market, the price of gold went up by $5 to reach $2,355 per ounce. In the meantime, the cost of silver in Pakistan stayed the same at Rs 2,650 per tola and Rs 2,271.94 per 10-gram.

On September 2, 2023, gold reached its previous peak price in Pakistan of Rs242,700 per tola.
