ISLAMABAD: Eid-ul-Fitr, which marks the end of Holy month of Ramadan is being celebrated with great religious zeal and fervor across the country today.

Eid special prayers offered at Eidgahs and mosques in all major cities and towns on Wednesday with Muslims praying for liberation of Gaza and leaders expressed solidarity with the people of Gaza, where more than 33,000 have been reported dead in six-month-long Israeli atrocities, Gaza’s health ministry said.

In Islamabad, main Eid congregation held at Faisal Mosque, where government dignitaries, foreign diplomats besides common people offered Eid Prayer.

President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have felicitated the nation and the Muslim Ummah on the auspicious occasion of Eid-ul- Fitr and urged them to show compassion and generosity and share their happiness with the poor and needy.

In a message, President Asif Zardari on behalf of the Pakistan nation, extended message to the oppressed Muslims of Gaza and Palestine that the whole Pakistani nation express solidarity with you.

President Asif Ali Zardari in his Eid message prayed to Allah Almighty to bring immense blessings, happiness, peace and security to everyone on this blessed day.

In his Eid message, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said this day marks the end of Ramazan, a month of immense blessings, spiritual growth, forgiveness, patience, tolerance and resilience.

Shehbaz Sharif also urged Muslims around the world to remember their Palestinian and Kashmiri brothers and sisters who are facing the worst kind of atrocities of the occupation forces and they will be constrained to enjoy the joys of Eid. We all pray to Almighty Allah to ease their difficulties, he said.
