ISLAMABAD: The New Zealand cricket team arrived in Islamabad on Sunday morning ahead of the T20 series against Pakistan starting on April 18.

Under the leadership of Michael Bracewell, the host team will take on the men in green in a five-match series out of which three matches will be played in Rawalpindi while the remaining two matches will be played in Lahore and the series will end on April 27.

A day ago, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced the match officials for the upcoming series. The panel headed by Emirates International Cricket Council (ICC) Elite Panel of Match Referees Andy Pycroft includes Aleem Dar, Asif Yaqoob, Faisal Afridi and Rashid Riaz.

On 9 April, the board announced a 17-member squad led by Babar Azam for the T20I series with fast bowler Mohammad Amir and all-rounder Imad Wasim returning to the national team.

The series is also likely to see Usman Khan and Mohammad Irfan Khan making their debuts for the green shirts due to their impressive performances in the recently concluded ninth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL 9).
