LAHORE: Chicken prices massively increased after Eid-ul-Fitr, breaking all previous records across Punjab.

According to the details, the market committee has said that the official price of chicken meat in Lahore has been set at Rs 666 per kg.

While the shopkeepers increased the price of chicken meat by around Rs 200 per kg, chicken meat is now available in the market at Rs 850 per kg.

People complained about a lack of checking by the administration and related departments.

Controversy over chicken rates

The Poultry Retailers Association has announced a shutter down strike tomorrow on Tuesday across Punjab, including Rawalpindi.

The President of the Poultry Retailers Association Rawalpindi Zaheer Abbasi has said that they can’t sell chicken at government-fixed rates.

He said the administration is forcing the chicken bought at Rs 510 per kg to be sold at a reduction of Rs 50. Retailers in Rawalpindi are facing trouble at the hands of management and wholesalers.
