RAWALPINDI: More than 55,000 vehicles entered Murree on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr and 52,000 exited the hill station during the Eid holidays. However, Murree can accommodate 5,000 vehicles.

Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Rawalpindi Taimur Khan praised the efficient arrangements and  said more than 300 traffic police personnel were deployed to ensure the smooth flow of traffic among the growing number of visitors in Murree during the Eid days.

CTO Rawalpindi attributed the success to effective strategy and strict implementation of the traffic plan which avoided any untoward incident during the Eid holidays.

“More than 12,840 tourists were guided and assisted in multiple ways, while over 30,000 awareness and safety pamphlets were distributed among visitors, which provided them with full guidance, CTO Khan said.

He further said that during the holy month of Ramadan and the auspicious occasion of Eid al-Fitr, traffic police officers and jawans have shown unwavering dedication and professionalism in their duties.

CTO Taimur Khan also announced the awarding of certificates of appreciation to traffic wardens and stafffor exemplary performance.
