MUZAFFARABAD: A day after the government gave in to its demands and pledged necessary relief, the Jammu Kashmir Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC) declared on Tuesday that it would be ending the ongoing protests in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) against skyrocketing inflation, exorbitant taxes, and electricity bills.
“The government accepted all the demands of the protesters yesterday,” the AAC said in a statement referring to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s announcement of a Rs23 billion subsidy package for the people of AJK.
