ISLAMABAD: District and Session Court Islamabad has sent former Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) prime minister Sardar Tanveer Ilyas on judicial remand on Monday.
Former Azad Kashmir premier was arrested on Sunday night from his residence in connection with an attack on a shopping mall in Islamabad.
According to the Islamabad Police spokesperson, a first information report (FIR) had been lodged against Ilyas at the Margalla Police Station in the federal capital on the complaint of security in-charge of the shopping mall on April 30.

On the complaint of Sardar Tanveer Ilyas’s chief security officer Col (retd) Tipu Sultan, the police registered a case under Sections 452, 448, 506-II, 148, and 149 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC).
The complainant also named Muhammad Ali, Anil Sultan, Rizwan, and other unidentified individuals in the case.
The complaint alleges that Sardar Tanveer Ilyas, accompanied by an armed group of 20 to 25 people, broke into the mall’s office by breaking the lock. The accused are alleged to have threatened to kill and also assaulted a security guard in the office.
