LAHORE: Pakistan team’s white-ball Head Coach Gary Kirsten has submitted his report on the team’s poor performance during the T20 World Cup 2024, sources said on Wednesday.
Gary Kirsten has sent the report to Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, highlighting the team’s shortcomings including fitness, discipline, and game awareness among others.Â
Mohsin Naqvi will assess the report covering the reasons behind the national team’s disastrous performance that led to Pakistan’s disappointing early exit from the T20 World Cup.
After going through the report, the PCB chief will also consult PCB officials and former cricketers before deciding on the way forward for the men’s national team.
Earlier, Chairman PCB Mohsin Naqvi hinted at a ‘major surgery’ in the team after the team lost a must-win match against India in the T20 World Cup.
Pakistan’s early exit and below-par performance resulted in scathing criticism from fans and former cricketers alike prompting the PCB to make major changes including reviewing the players’ central contracts.
Green Shirts failed to qualify for Super 8 after initial defeats from the United States and India in group stages, which concluded the World Cup campaign for the team.
