LAHORE: The Chief Minister of Punjab Maryam Nawaz inaugurated the Nawaz Sharif Information Technology (IT) City Project in Lahore to equip the youth with modern skills, here on Saturday.
Addressing the inaugural ceremony of the IT City Project, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz reminded that Nawaz Sharif inaugurated the first IT City in a short span of two and a half months and laid the foundation stone of the IT City Project.
She announced that the 853-acre IT City project will be tax-free for the next 10 years, while knowledge city and film city are also being developed in this project.
Maryam said that various universities will open campuses in knowledge city and the government will provide facilities to investors.
CM Punjab pledged that the youth of Pakistan would be economically empowered.

In her address, Maryam Nawaz compared the IT revolution in India to the possibility of a similar change in Pakistan and questioned why Pakistan could not achieve so much success.
Criticizing the current situation, he said that Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif provided laptops to millions of students but they were replaced by sticks and petrol bombs.
CM said that the aim of PML-N is to bring it revolution in the country including providing free Wi-Fi across the province including Lahore.
At the end of her address, the Chief Minister announced the resumption of laptop scheme for deserving students of Pakistan.
