Mohammad Rizwan opens up about his 8-year-long interesting love story
ISLAMABAD: Known for his resilience on the pitch, Pakistan wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Rizwan brings the same attitude to his personal life.
Recently, he opened up about his married life and revealed his struggle to marry the person he loves.
Rizwan’s brave century against Sri Lanka during the 2023 ODI World Cup, where he battled through pains to help Pakistan chase down the biggest target in the history of the tournament, is still fresh in the minds of fans. It is fresh. At a recent event, sitting with team captain Babar Azam, Rizwan shared the details of their eight-year love story.
The interviewer introduced Rizwan by highlighting his dedication: “Today we have a man who not only loved [someone] but also prayed for him with daily Quranic recitations for eight years. ”
Before Rizwan could respond, Babar handed him the microphone with a playful comment: “Every time, I’m spoken to, it’s your time [to share your story].”

Rizwan, in turn, joked, “I’m just praying for you [for Babar’s marriage]”, as the two shared a light-hearted moment.
Reluctant at first, Rizwan acknowledges the difficulties involved in love stories, especially in his Pathan culture. He revealed that he had to wait eight long years and pray to Allah daily to get the girl’s family to agree to their marriage.
“I think I’m the first person in my family to marry for love,” Rizwan said. “I was sure then that whatever I asked Allah, He would not return me empty-handed,” he concluded.
