
ISLAMABAD: In a shocking turn of events, Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir’s mother passed away on March 24.
The statement issued by the Inter-Service Public Relations on early Tuesday announced the death of Chief of Army Staff General Asim Muneer’s mother death.
The statement prayed for the highest ranks in heaven for the deceased.
Additionally, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif extended condolences to Gen Asim Munir and his family.
According to a PM Office press release, the prime minister expressed solidarity with the bereaved family in this hour of grief. He also prayed to Allah Almighty for the eternal peace of the departed soul.
Senate Chairman Yousuf Raza Gilani, National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq, JUIF-chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, and Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Yousuf also condoled the death.
Ayaz Sadiq acknowledged the irreparable loss of parents, describing them as a blessing of nature. Maulana Fazlur Rehman emphasized that there is no replacement for a mother and prayed for Gen Asim Munir and his family.
Furthermore, Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, the leader of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P), encouraged his party members to offer extra prayers for Gen. Munir’s mother’s forgiveness in the meantime.
In a separate statement, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi expressed his sympathies and prayed for the deceased’s high status in the afterlife as well as for the family’s patience. Senate Chairman Yousaf Raza Gilani conveyed his profound sorrow, offering General Munir his condolences and wishing his family courage and comfort.
Similar feelings were expressed by former Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani, who assured the Army Chief of his support at this difficult time. Rana Sanaullah, the prime minister’s adviser on political affairs, also conveyed her deep sorrow and prayed for God to provide the deceased peace and patience to the bereaved family.
