
LAHORE: Another incident of sexual assault has been reported in the department to maintain law and order as a head constable from Dhola police station in Gujranwala has been arrested for sexually assaulting a female police officer.
A case has been registered under sections 376 and 506 of the IPC against Head Constable Asif Bajwa, who – according to the complainant – took the victim to a hotel under the guise of sharing food. The situation took a dangerous turn when the female officer on duty was raped by Bajwa.
The FIR further stated that the accused also filmed the incident and was using the video to blackmail the victim. In response to her complaint, law enforcement agencies acted swiftly and arrested the head constable, initiating a thorough investigation into the matter. However, several questions have now been raised regarding the timing of the complaint.

Despite the alleged assault allegedly going on for the past six months, the complaint was filed recently. The sexual assaults within the police ranks have shocked the local police community, raising concerns about the safety and well-being of female officers in the force.
Officials have assured the public that a thorough investigation will be conducted and the accused will face appropriate legal action. A spokesperson for the Punjab Police has not yet shared further details as the case is currently under investigation.
