LAHORE: In a move to safeguard children, the Punjab government has temporarily banned children mechanical rides during the festivities of Eid-ul-Fitr.
According to an official notification, rides installed on a permanent basis at amusement parks and play areas will be allowed to operate, only if they have a valid fitness certificate to ensure safety standards.
In the notification, the deputy commissioner has been directed to enforce the ban on temporary basis on the occasion of Eid, warning the potential risk of mishap.
These rides, often assembled without proper checks, pose significant risks, especially with large crowds gathering during Eid. Only rides meeting safety regulations will be allowed.
Meanwhile, in Quetta, authorities have imposed Section 144, restricting access to major tourist spots like Hanna, Urak, Karkhasa, and Shaban. This decision was made in light of the current security situation, aiming to maintain public safety and order during the celebrations.
