RAWALPINDI: Rawalpindi police have arrested the sisters of PTI founder Imran Khan and shifted the PTI leaders imprisoned outside Adiala Jail to a nearby wedding hall in Rawalpindi.
According to the author, the police have detained Sahibzada Hamid Raza, Aleema Khan and others from the Gorakhpur check post. Imran Khan’s sisters and other PTI leaders were stopped from entering to meet Imran Khan. The police took Aleema Khan, Noreen Khan and Uzma Khan in a police van. Nadia Khan and Qasim Khan were also detained. PTI Chairman Barrister Gauhar and Secretary General condemned the arrest.
Gauhar advised the government to allow PTI leaders to meet Imran Khan. Earlier, PTI leaders protested outside Adiala Jail after they were not allowed to meet PTI founder Imran Khan. Talking to the media, Opposition Leader Omar Ayub said that they had come for the meeting with court orders but the police still stopped them. He said that the courts should ensure the implementation of their decisions. He expressed regret that at present there is no justice, no rule of law in the country. PTI leader Zartaj Gul told the media that Imran Khan was not allowed to offer Eid prayers and Imran Khan was not allowed to talk to his sons for three months. He asked why friends cannot meet Imran Khan?
Zartaj Gul said that this is not fair. Everyone knows that Imran Khan is innocent, that is why he is in jail. Zartaj also condemned the treatment of female political workers. He said that dragging women by their hair is wrong. The government is treating political workers like terrorists. He warned that if meetings with Khan Sahib are not allowed, the crisis in the country will further increase. Opposition Leader in the Punjab Assembly Malik Ahmed Khan Bachhar said that Imran Khan’s sisters were also not allowed to meet him. He said that such treatment is shameful.
