WhatsApp, Meta’s platform, has begun testing out a feature that allows users to share video status updates up to 90 seconds long, and certain beta testers have access to it, WABetaInfo reported.
This feature eliminates the need to break footage into different segments, allowing users to submit larger, unbroken video snippets as status updates.
Giving users even more freedom to express themselves through longer clips, the new limit extends video status durations from 60 seconds to 90 seconds, Users noted that having more time to communicate their experiences in a single video improved their status update experience.
Furthermore, this change updates last year’s feature, which upped the time restriction from 30 seconds to 1 minute.
It’s also worth mentioning that the rollout is happening gradually, so the functionality isn’t yet available to all beta users
The longer restriction reduces the need for users to manually edit or chop videos to suit the status duration.
Users may now share more moments in a single status update without experiencing the disruption created by breaking videos into smaller chunks.
Earlier this month, WhatsApp introduced a new conversation memory function for the Meta AI chatbot, which is now available to certain beta testers with the newest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.25.11.13 update.
The new capability allows users to expressly teach Meta AI to recall specific details.
This enables the chatbot to provide increasingly relevant information over time, making conversations more natural and personalised.
