
LAHORE: The Punjab Government has made significant accomplishments via its “Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar” project. The program has completed 1,562 houses and disbursed loans of more than Rs26.97 billion to more than 25,500 households.
Presently, more than 21,797 houses are under construction at the final stages across the province, and the program has issued second installments to more than 11,500 families as part of building a home.
The program has also issued 1,106 housing loans to grow the housing agenda even faster. The Chief Minister, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, expressed her excitement and commitment to the program and mentioned that it has continued to proceed successfully, bringing happiness to thousands of families across Punjab.
“The housing program was launched under the vision of Nawaz Sharif, and it has made substantial contributions in the province for providing low-income families with affordable housing.“
The primary feature of the program includes interest-free loans, which are paid back over nine years with monthly repayments of Rs 14,000. The program has provided meaningful advancements and fulfillment for the government as it derails the housing crisis and reduces homelessness in Punjab.
The initiative has ambitious goals that aim to provide 100,000 homes in one year and 500,000 homes within five years. With a significant loan target, this program will have a meaningful effect on the lives of many families.
