
MLBOURNE: Pakistan’s junior squash players had a great showing in the Australian Junior Squash Open 2025, with six players reaching the semi-finals in various age divisions.
The Australian Junior Squash Open 2025, held in Melbourne, continues to highlight international junior potential, with Pakistan’s rising players making an impact.
In the Under-11 boys’ division, Ahmad Ali Naz excelled with a calm performance to advance to the semi-finals. Meanwhile, Ahmad Raza Naz of Pakistan crushed Australia’s Manav Kagda in straight sets, winning 3-0.
Pakistan achieved glory in the Under-17 division as well. Azaan Ali Khan advanced to the boys’ semi-finals after a hard-fought victory over an Australian opponent, while Mahrukh Ali defeated Meghan Wang of Australia to reach the girls’ final four.
In the under-15 division, Sehrish Ali, Mahrukh’s sister, continued her great form with a convincing victory over Chelse Paul to advance to the semifinals.
Mohammad Faizan Khan maintained Pakistan’s momentum in the Under-13 class by overcoming a New Zealand player, while Mahnoor Ali advanced to the quarterfinals by defeating Victoria’s Maryam Ibrahim.
The tournament finals are scheduled for April 17, 2025. The event involves elite junior squash players from all around the world, with Pakistan’s impressive performance demonstrating the country’s growing talent pool on the international squash scene.
