KARACHI: Around 5,744 employees of Pakistan Steel Mills will be reinstated after the Sindh Labour Appellate Tribunal suspended the Labour Court ruling.
Labour Appellate Tribunal ordered the Pakistan Steel administration to reinstate the employees and submit a response in this regard by May 24.
The employees filed the case against their termination in the Labour Appellate Tribunal after the Labour Court, in a ruling on February 22, upheld the dismissals.
However, following appeals, the Appellate Tribunal overturned the Labour Court’s decision, providing relief to the affected workers until the final hearing.
The final hearing is expected to be held on May 14 as the Tribunal has issued notices to Pakistan Steel Mills’ management to submit its response.
