MUZAFFARGARH: Muzaffargarh Police on Wedneday arrested a man for alleged rape of an 80-year-old widow in jurisdiction of Qasba Gujrat Police Station in Kot Addu district.
According to a police spokesperson, the local police took swift action after a case was registered on the complaint of the victim’s son.
As per the FIR, the complaint said that the accused, Yassen, sexually assaulted his mother at his house on Monday afternoon, when his family members were at someone’s wedding.
According to the complainant, the victim went to the accused’s house looking for Sughra Bibi, a family member of Yaseen, but she was not at her house. The accused, finding the 80-year-old alone, assaulted her.
The complainant told police that the relatives of the accused tried to settle things, but he denied and demanded police a strict action against the rapist.
A police spokesperson said that the accused has been arrested and will be presented in court seeking severe punishment under the law.
