ISLAMABAD: The Gaza Solidarity March in Pakistan continues to attract large crowds, with participants gathering to express their support for the Palestinian people.
Addressing the marchers, Jamaat-e-Islami chief Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman criticized Muslim rulers for their silence on Gaza and urged them to take inspiration from non-Muslim youth who are raising their voices for Palestine without worrying about their future.
He stressed the need for Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu to pressure the US to stop the attack on Gaza. He announced a nationwide strike, including in Azad Kashmir, on April 26.
The JI chief also said that prominent religious scholars have made jihad mandatory on Muslims. He said that we will resist through boycotts on social media and digital jihad.
During his speech, Hafiz Naeem also highlighted other important issues in the country, saying that the Baloch are demanding rights, the Pashtuns are demanding peace, and the people of Sindh are protesting against the canal disputes.
He reiterated the call for a complete nationwide strike on April 26 and urged Muslim leaders to stand up against Israel. Condemning the devastation in Gaza and calling for solidarity with Muslims against oppression, he said that despite our internal differences, we must unite for the causes of Kashmir and Palestine.
