RAWALPINDI: In a move to curb substandard edible items, the Punjab Food Authority (PFA) has taken decisive action against a fake juice factory in Gujjar Khan, Ward No. 19.
During the raid, 200 liters of fake and substandard juice were confiscated and subsequently destroyed. The factory owner was fined Rs. 60,000 for violating food safety regulations.
Upon investigation, it was also found that the factory workers’ medical certificates were not available, raising concerns about their health and the safety of the employees.
Further investigation revealed that the juice was being sold with fake labels, and substandard colors were being used, posing a significant risk to consumer health.
This action is part of the PFA’s ongoing efforts to combat food adulteration and ensure safe food products for consumers. The authority has been conducting raids across the city, sealing factories and imposing fines on violators.
The PFA’s crackdown on fake drinks is a welcome move, and it is expected that such actions will help to protect consumers from health risks associated with adulterated food products.
The authority’s commitment to ensuring food safety and quality is evident from its regular inspections and swift action against those found violating regulations.
