KARACHI: In an unfortunate incident, five doctors suffered injuries in a clash between two groups of young doctors over the reopening of OPDs at Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) in Karachi on Thursday, according to media reports.
The situation escalated when one group of young doctors tried to open the OPDs while the other group shut them down, which created rivalry between both groups, the report said.
The hospital authorities confirmed the reopening of the OPDs as the police arrived on the occasion and arrested some of the doctors to bring the situation under control.
It is noteworthy that a group of young doctors has been on strike for the last few days over the clash between the attendants and the doctors in JPMC.
The Situation became more violent last week when the attendants were furious over the non-availability of a bed for their ill patient, who eventually died last week.
Moreover, the family members also started a protest outside the Saddar police station, along with the body, accusing the doctors of denying admission to the deceased in the hospital.
Additionally, CCTV footage showed the attendants thrashing the doctors after the death of their patient.
