
PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Workers Welfare Board has published its annual performance report for employees, announcing that 17 workers from various industries across the province will be sponsored for Hajj this year.
According to the report, the government will bear the expenses of the Hajj, which amounts to Rs. 200 million. 18.79 million.
The document highlights the financial assistance provided during the past year, which includes the release of Rs. 627.5 million for higher education of children of 1,578 workers, Rs. 131 million distributed as marriage grants to 341 workers, and Rs. 30 million allocated for death grants in 44 cases.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Religious Affairs has issued a cautionary order to the public regarding fake Hajj permits.
The report further states that 21,587 students have been enrolled in working focus grammar schools for the academic year 2024-25. Additionally, Rs191.7 million has been allocated for books, uniforms and transportation for these students.
The Labour Department’s results also showed impressive academic results, with a 94% success rate in the matriculation exams in working focus schools – 1,141 out of 1,220 students passed. In the intermediate exams, 445 out of 464 students passed.
