
ISLAMABAD: With temperatures soaring to over 40 to 45 degrees Celsius in some areas of Pakistan, including the federal capital, the use of air conditioners (ACs) has surged. Among all the air conditioner manufacturers, Haier, Orient, Gree, and Dawlance are commonly preferred in residential and commercial setups.
Recently, a case has been reported in Bharia, where the Chinese manufacturer Haier’s air conditioners (AC), R32, suddenly blasted, the blast occurred during the time of installation.
According to the eyewitness, pieces of AC got spread all over the place, however, no information has been found yet about the mechanic installing the AC.
This incident does not stand alone, as similar complaints were reported last year, specifically in Haier models R32 nd DC Inverters got Residents took to social media to share their complaints and photos of air conditioners (AC) showing that either they caught fire or suddenly stopped working and later blasted.
One of the users posted his complaint on a Facebook group, Voice of Customers, saying that his Haier Inverter was powered off and caught fire. The user further complained that Haier is not taking up his matter as the AC is still under warranty.
Some videos are reported on social media showing the Haier inverters ablaze, creating danger to the nearby lives.
Customers demanded that Haier recall its faulty units and urged the Competition Commission of Pakistan (CCP) and Consumer Rights Commission of Pakistan (CRCP) to launch an inquiry into the matter.
