LAHORE: In a recent development, the Punjab Chief Minister, Maryam Nawaz, has announced the distribution date of the latest Laptops under the CM Punjab Laptop scheme 2025.
According to the details, in the first phase, a total of 7,000 latest-generation laptops will be distributed among the selected students of various institutions across Punjab.
To promote openness in the free laptop program, the Higher Education Department has established a partnership with the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) for biometric verification of candidates.
While the HEC will pay for the thumb verification, Nadra has begun offering the services at its e-Sahulat Centers as of April 24.
The Commission has instructed educational institutions to make sure that students who have applied for the laptop program have their biometrics verified promptly.
The distribution ceremony is set to take place on April 30, in which CM Maryam Nawaz is likely to be the chief guest.
Free laptops will be provided to all qualified BS (first and second semester) students at Public Sector HED Colleges, Public Sector Universities, and Medical & Dental Colleges. Private college students are not eligible to apply for the program.
The program’s objectives are to increase young economic empowerment, digital inclusion, skill development, and educational advancement in the province.
