Construction Project fraud case; Shahid Afridi among 10 booked in case


RAWALPINDI: A case about alleged fraud in a housing society project was filed against nine additional people, including former Pakistan cricket team captain Shahid Afridi. Abid bin Abdul Qudoos, the purported victim, filed a complaint, which led to the registration of the case at the Rawat Police Station.

Sheikh Fawad Bashir, Shehzad Kayani, Umar Bashir, Farooq Bashir, Kashif, Usman, Nasira Bashir, Iftikhar Ilyas, Hafeezur Rehman, and Malik Sohail Ahmed are among the other suspects identified in the case.He claimed that the suspects used Shahid Afridi in print, electronic, and social media ads to entice people to invest in the AAA Business Center project.

The victim claimed that after being persuaded by the advertisement, he reserved two mezzanine-floor businesses and that he had fully paid the suspects through their company Rs5.5 million for shop number 17 and Rs4 million for shop number 15.

He now knows that the suspects conned individuals on purpose in order to steal money, and the stamp papers he was handed were issued years ago. He disclosed that the rental agreement was also printed on stamp paper that was out of date.

He claimed that although Sheikh Fawad had signed some of the agreements, another person had actually signed them. He has charged the suspects with giving a store to several different clients.
