
KARACHI: In a drastic change, the gold prices in Pakistan have received a significant drop of Rs. 19,200 per tola after a record high in recent days.
According to the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewelers Association, the price of 24 carat gold per tola dropped by Rs. 1,300, selling for Rs. 344,500 on Friday as opposed to Rs. 345,800 on the previous trading day.
The price of the yellow metal has dropped in recent days after hitting an all-time high of Rs. 363,700 a tola. It is currently down Rs. 19,200 per tola from its peak.
While the price of 10 grams of 22 Karat dropped from Rs. 271,771 to Rs. 270,740, the price of 10 grams of 24 Karat also dropped by Rs. 1,114, from Rs. 296,467 to Rs. 295,353.
However, the prices for ten grams of silver and per tola stayed at Rs. 2,938 and Rs. 3,427, respectively.
According to the Association, silver rates were recorded at $32.45, while the price of gold on the global market dropped by $13 to $3,263 from $3,276.
