KARACHI: Due to the ongoing tensions between Pakistan and India, Pakistan has partially restricted certain areas of its airspace over Karachi and Lahore for a month in response to the Pahalgam false flag event.
According to a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) issued by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), specific areas of the Karachi and Lahore Flight Information Regions (FIRs) would remain closed every day from 4 to 8 a.m., effective from May 1 to May 31, 2025.
Commercial flights will use alternate routes during the limited hours, even though the airspace between Karachi and Lahore is closed.
This development comes after a brief three-hour airspace closure momentarily halted flight operations on PIA’s Gilgit-Skardu route.
