
ISLAMABAD: Two additional airports, in Sukkur and Muzaffarabad, have been approved for construction by the Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) on Tuesday.
According to reports, PAA has also constituted an officer-led committee to buy land for the Sukkur and Muzaffarabad airports. The PAA’s Works and Development Department has begun work on two new airports.
The development of Sukkur International Airport and Muzaffarabad International Airport would cost billions of rupees, according to reports.
The PAA had authorized the proposal. Both airports will be completed within the next five years, according to reports.
Earlier, Pakistan Airports Authority has formally launched the e-gates project for the fastest immigration of passengers at airports on Tuesday.
Local and foreign experts from the German company M2P Consulting formally launched the project for the planning, design, and installation of e-gates at the airports of Islamabad, Lahore, and Karachi.
Technical and practical details of the project were discussed before the signing of the agreement.
