ISLAMABAD: (Ehsan Bukhari, Special Correspondent)- Several well-known companies operating in Pakistan, including Imarat Group, Graana.com, Amazon Mall, Mall of Imarat and Agency 21, have been accused of involvement in a multi-billion-rupee fraud, according to reports from affected investors.
Despite filing multiple complaints with the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), victims claim no action has been taken against the companies. In response, they have announced plans to stage a protest and sit-in outside NAB offices and the National Press Club in Rawalpindi.
Victims allege that the companies have misappropriated billions of rupees and are refusing to return their investments. Speaking to Daily Ausaf, complainants including Dr. Safdar and Ehtesham Khan said repeated appeals to NAB have gone unheard, forcing them to take to the streets.
“We’ve submitted numerous applications to NAB, but there has been no response. That’s why we’ve decided to protest outside NAB Rawalpindi and press club,” said one of the victims.
The aggrieved parties have called on Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif, NAB Director General, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, and other relevant authorities to launch an investigation into the matter. They specifically named company officials including Chairman Shafiq Akbar, Javed, and Arsalan Javed as those allegedly responsible.
The protesters warned that if their grievance are not addressed, they will escalate their protests to a nationwide level.
