(REUTERS): India batter Virat Kohli announced his retirement from Test cricket on Monday, bringing down the curtain on a sparkling career in the longest format just days after captain Rohit Sharma did the same.
“As I step away from this format, it’s not easy – but it feels right. I’ve given it everything I had, and it’s given me back so much more than I could’ve hoped for,” Kohli said on Instagram.
“An era ends in Test cricket but the legacy will continue FOREVER!” the Board of Control for Cricket in India wrote on X over the former captain’s retirement announcement.
