KARACHI: In a recent development to digitalize the education system, the certificates of Class 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th will now be verified online.
According to a notice issued by the Inter Boards Coordination Commission (IBCC), the procedure for verification of matric and inter certificates in Sindh is moving online.
Details reveal that as outlined in the new instructions by IBCC, sealed envelopes with certificates for verification will be ended. Verification will be solely through an online system.
IBBC advised all the Boards of Education in Sindh to be connected to the IBCC platform for verification. This system is presently live with Karachi Matric Board, Sukkur Education Board, and Ziauddin Board.
The other boards in Sindh have been encouraged to upload and digitize their education history as soon as possible to interface with the online verification system.
Earlier, the Inter Boards Coordination Commission (IBCC) introduced a new grading system for matric and intermediate students in Pakistan.
Under the new grading formula, the IBCC has approved an increase in the grace marks from three to five, raising passing marks to 40 from 33 in the past.
According to the IBCC, teachers can now provide five grace marks to push the candidate to 40 marks, in contrast to the previous three grace marks to pass the candidate.
The decision will be applied to matriculation and intermediate examination results across the country from the 2025 examinations.
The grace marks can be given in a maximum of two subjects, however, in case of failure of the candidate in any third subject, the teacher will not be permitted to provide marks.
