KARACHI: Renowned Pakistani actress Hania Aamir has denied the fabricated statement being attributed to the actress on social media regarding the Pahalgam attack.
According to the contentious statements ascribed to the Dil Ruba actress, she had urged the Indian prime minister, Narendra Modi, to distinguish between “Islamist terrorists” and civilians. She blamed the Pahalgam attack on the Pakistani military.
Hania Aamir has now formally posted her response on Instagram, stating unequivocally that she was not involved in the activities being associated with her.
Recently, a message widely shared on social media has been incorrectly ascribed to me. I want to be clear about this: I did not say this, and I do not agree with or support the statements being associated with me. It is completely false and distorts my identity and beliefs,” she stated.
Nevertheless, this is a delicate and emotional moment. My thoughts and prayers are with the families impacted by the tragedy and the innocent lives lost. Hania Aamir continued, “Pain like this is real and deserves empathy, not politicization.”
It’s simple to allow feelings to influence our decisions during difficult times, but we must keep in mind that the acts of extremists do not speak for a whole country or its citizens.
According to her, placing blame without evidence just serves to widen gaps and divert attention from the true need for justice, compassion, and reconciliation.
